The cobas® 4800 HPV Test is performed on the cobas® 4800 system, which offers a start-to-finish automated and streamlined workflow, from sample preparation to test processing. Features to help maximize efficiency include:
Small 1 mL sample size: Only 1 mL of sample is required to process the cobas® 4800 HPV Test, reducing non-reportable results and patient callbacks due to insufficient sample volume.
Ready-to-use reagents: Require no thawing, measuring or mixing.
No bleaching or alcohol: The AmpErase® enzyme destroys virtually all previously generated amplicon to protect against cross-contamination and provide full confidence in results. The enzyme eliminates laborious and time-consuming decontamination processes requiring the use of hazardous substances that can harm skin and clothing, and require special handling for disposal.1, 2, 3, 4
Least time required for daily maintenance5: The cobas® 4800 System requires the lowest daily maintenance among all competitors analyzed, taking less than 4 minutes/day. It is also the most convenient of all systems analyzed, as it doesn’t require post-run decontamination cleanup of the workstation or other areas as required by other systems.
Least amount of hands-on time5: Overall and per reportable, the cobas® 4800 System requires the least amount of hands-on time, resulting in the lowest labor time for laboratories.
Shortest time to 96 results5: The cobas® 4800 HPV Test can be completed in just 5 hours, vs. 6, 7, or 8 with competitive tests (Gen-Probe Aptima HPV Test*, HC2 High-Risk HPV DNA Test, and Cervista® HPV HR).†
*Performed on the PANTHER system.
†All tests process 96 results.
Automated preprocessing: Adding the cobas® p 480 instrument for the pre-analytical sample processing steps reduces laboratory hands on time, and offers a fast, reliable way to uncap and recap PreservCyt® and SurePath™ liquid based cytology vials as well as cobas® PCR Media tubes. The cobas® p 480 instrument allows primary vials to be loaded directly onto the cobas® 4800 System, without a need to aliquot into a secondary vial.
